What’s happening at NHLA in March?

On March 1 we will host the first annual Northern Nevada Awards luncheon at the Atlantis Resort.  Nominees will be honored and recipients in various award categories will be recognized for outstanding service to their hotels and the industry.  Special guest emcee Marvellous Mark will keep everyone laughing and having a great time.

WIL March events


On March 5 the Women in Lodging mentors and mentees will be meeting for a social hour mid-session check-in at Panevino’s.  We’ll chat about progress and learn what everyone is experiencing.

March 12 the Women in Lodging Read to Lead book club participants will meet for the final session on The Confidence Code book we have been reading.  It has been a fun experience for everyone.  The next book club will start on May 21.  All WIL members are invited to join.

Rafael Villanueva

The Q1 NHLA all member social will be held March 18 at the Waldorf Astoria beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Special guest will be Rafael Villanueva, Senior Director of International Sales, LVCVA.


Chandra Allison March chat

On March 20 Chandra Alison, Senior Vice President of Sales for Venetian/Palazzo, will host the Q1 WIL leadership chat in the Prestige Lounge.  She will discuss her journey through her career.


Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation

Join us on March 21 at Russell’s Restaurant at CSN as we host a scholarship fundraiser for our Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation.  The event will feature a delicious dinner followed by wine tasting.  The foundation chairman, Greg Chase, will emcee this fun event.


Steven Flak

Rounding out the month will be our NRG young professionals seminar on March 26 at TISOH featuring Steven Flak, Talent Acquisition Manager, MGM Resorts International.  He will be presenting a workshop on Engaging Resumes and Successful Interviews.

NHLA has formed a separate entity: The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation. The foundation is aligned with the goals and vision of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. The mission is to grant scholarships for education, certifications and training programs to eligible persons seeking to enter or advance within the hospitality industry in Nevada. Learn more.
