As we are coming to the end of another industry-challenging year, we are so happy we were able to resume in-person events for our members. We have focused on a variety of activities to provide relevancy and interest for all. What else is coming up at NHLA on our event calendar?
So far in 2021, we have presented over 60 activities involving webinars, seminars, conferences, networking events, Women in Lodging and Emerging Leaders events, certified guest service professional workshops and committee activities.
In November, we have some great events coming up at NHLA. On November 4, our annual WIL conference will take place at the Orleans. The conference theme is “Raise your Hand!” and will place a focus on the importance of pursuing career advancement successfully. We have been faced with very difficult challenges and situations this past 2 years. Learn how to thrive in our new environment. Our special guest presenters will be:
- Chris Breed, Vice President of Resort Operations for Soleil Management
- Mary Ann Burns, Vice President of Hotel Operations for Boyd Gaming
- Megan Archambeault, Vice President of Sales for MGM Grand and New York-New York
- Ruth Furman, Principal of ImageWords Communications
Host and panel moderator will be Janice Tanaka, PHR, SHRM-CP. Don’t miss this fun and inspiring event. Register now.
On November 8, we will have our Q4 Women in Lodging council meeting to discuss our focus for next year. We have some new council members along with our founders and are excited to look at new opportunities for our WIL members.
Our Q4 Clean and Green committee meeting will take place at Downtown Grand on November 9. This committee is comprised of leaders who specialize in sustainability and housekeeping. They are responsible for assisting in creating relevant events and providing resources in these areas. The committee is led by Daniel Harn and Jim Kenney. We have openings and welcome any of our members to join.
On November 10, we will have our Q4 NNV council call where we learn from our NNV members what is relevant and useful for ongoing activities in that region.
NHLA NNV members have supported Dress for Success in many ways the past few years. Our next fun philanthropic event is scheduled at the DFS boutique on November 16. The “Shampagne and Shop” (not a typo, it is the name of this program at DFS) event welcomes members to come by, have some bubbles and browse through accessories, handbags, shoes, and clothing at rock bottom prices. Just in time for the holidays! Sign up.
