The Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation is recognized as the most prestigious certification for any general manager or hospitality executive in the industry. The certification is achieved through the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s Educational Institute.
CHA designation identifies the top executives
The certification identifies the executive as being part of an industry elite group comprised of hospitality professionals. These pros combine experience with education and have achieved a high level of industry status.
The CHA is recognized globally and represents a highly respected credential in the hospitality profession. It validates significantly advanced knowledge and experience and is awarded for exemplary leadership and abilities.
Maintaining the CHA status
Recertification every five years is a requirement to maintain the CHA certification. AHLA EI offers the CHA Recertification program where a portfolio is available to track development and activities. Upon recertification, a jeweled lapel pin along with the award certificate will be given to the CHA.
Preparing for the CHA exam
Upon meeting the requirements to apply for the CHA, there are various materials available to study prior to the exam. An Exam Preparation Booklet includes comprehensive study materials. A Study Materials CD contains six key areas of knowledge in conjunction with the Exam Preparation Booklet. Candidates can identify areas requiring extra study as they prepare for the exam.
