The pandemic has brought many changes and challenges to our industry particularly for security personnel. Join us on April 7 as we meet virtually and talk to professionals in our industry as they share best practices, scenarios and other considerations regarding security situational awareness.
Joe Doa, Vice President of Security, Regional Operations-Zone Lead, MGM Resorts International, will be our first guest presenter. Joe will talk about the following:
- Evolving and changing security environment in the hospitality sector due to COVID-19 (United States trends and Nevada/Las Vegas specific)
- De-escalation best practices to address the changing security dynamics
- Importance of collaboration and preparation for security related incidents
Following Joe’s presentation, Dana Howell, Vice President and Legal Counsel with MGMRI, will discuss legal considerations for this area of operations.
There will be time for Q&A at the end of the presentations. Here is the opportunity to get best practices ideas from experienced professionals to assist in various situations and departments.
Security Situational Awareness first in a series of sessions
This is the first of 5 sessions created by Andy Meese, VP of Hospitality with MGMRI. Andy serves on the NHLA executive board and is a valued leader and contributor for our educational program development.
Each session will address a relevant and timely topic that our industry members are challenged with today as we see many changes taking place in our fluid environment. The sessions will be held each Wednesday from April 7 through May 5 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Our moderator for each session will be Anthony Lai, Student Affairs Program Manager with The International School of Hospitality. Anthony has been serving as our moderator for several months and does an excellent job.
NHLA members may sign up for any of these sessions via our event calendar. There is no charge for members to attend.
Thank you to our very valued member, MGM Resorts International, for providing our upcoming professional sessions. We appreciate it and we know all of our members will, too.
