NHLA Calendar of Events for Northern Nevada

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association is a statewide trade organization and the voice of the hospitality industry. In addition to offering many events and resources for Southern Nevada, NHLA is active in presenting valuable benefits for the Northern Nevada members.

NHLA has assembled a team of leaders from Northern Nevada to form the NNV Council. Led by vice chairman Jonathan Boulware, the council also includes Bill Henderson (Carson Valley Inn), Audrey Damonte (Damonte Law Offices), Debra Lang (IHG), Sherri McVey (NHLA outside sales representative), Katie Silva (Peppermill), Jim Kenney (Catalytic Pure Air), Niki Gross, (Whitney Peak Hotel) and Diane Gandy (NHLA).

These leaders are instrumental in guiding the team at NHLA in providing relevant and valuable resources for Northern Nevada. Regular meetings are held to discuss progress, enhancements and ongoing resources.

Exciting Northern Nevada Calendar of Events

A seminar presented by FranklinCovey’s The 4 Disciplines of Execution, will take place June 23 at the UNR Redfield Campus. Jeff Downs, Regional Practice Leader with FranklinCovey, will show how your organization can gain a competitive advantage through flawless execution. This training module is a highly valued segment and is being offered free to NHLA members. Register now.

In July, NHLA will present a member and guest social at the beautiful Whitney Peak Hotel. Hosted by member Niki Gross, we are all looking forward to networking, enjoying appetizers, and seeing the property. Jonathan Boulware will present exciting updates for the area and the members. Join us on July 14 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Whitney Peak Hotel.  Valet parking is available as well as a parking garage.

August brings the first Women in Lodging luncheon to the Peppermill. If you haven’t joined WIL, do so now. Nevada is partnered with the American Hotel and Lodging Association for the Women in Lodging state chapter. Our guest presenter will be Ronna Timpa, renowned author and professional speaker. Attend this dynamic luncheon.

In September we will enjoy a fun and educational event at the Peppermill which will include a tour of the nationally acclaimed geo-thermal facility. Dean Parker will present the cost-savings and ROI for implementing sustainable components at your hotel regardless of the size.

If you are a member of NHLA and would like to be involved with the NNV council, please contact us. It is our goal and focus to enhance our visibility and resources for this region. This is accomplished through the guidance and input of our members in Northern Nevada.
