NHLA is pleased to announce the 2020 Stars of the Industry Hotelier of the Year: Chris Breed, VP Resort Operations, Soleil Management. This prestigious industry award is given to a top leader in Nevada each year who demonstrates exceptional leadership and exemplary contributions to the industry and the association.
Chris has dedicated hundreds of hours of her time and expertise to both the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association and our new Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation for the past few years. She sits on both boards and contributes ideas, wisdom, experience, connections and support continuously. She is also a founding member of the NHLA Women in Lodging (WIL) program and continues to contribute regularly to this segment. She supports both the WIL and Emerging Leaders mentor programs by mentoring in every session. Chris has served on various panels as she shares her experience, participates in conferences and programs as a guest speaker. She is always available for NHLA and NHLF and is a fountain of ideas, creativity and resources.
Chris began her career in the hospitality industry 30 years ago. She started in housekeeping. Her parents were both in the industry so she has been around it her entire life. She is from Hawaii and moved to the 9th island 15 years ago. While it was supposed to be a quick stop on her career path, she grew to love Las Vegas. She says she is confident she will retire in the City of Las Vegas.
States Chris, “I have thought about career changes in the past, but I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else. I am one of those people that can say I truly love what I do! Who wouldn’t enjoy going to work every day and helping people have exceptional vacations!”
The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association team and board of directors are so thankful for all of Chris’ contributions and support. We are proud to have such an outstanding member of our industry as our 2020 Hotelier of the Year! Congratulations, Chris, on receiving the top honor in the industry, 2020 Hotelier of the Year.
