Have you met our new NHLA board member?

NHLA is pleased to welcome Andy Meese to the board of directors.  Andy is Vice President of Hotel Operations at Bellagio.

Andy is a successful MGM Resorts leader with almost 20 years’ experience. He has been a high energy manager effective in building and motivating dynamic teams. He cultivates a company culture in which the team feels comfortable voicing questions and concerns, as well as contributing new ideas that drive company growth and continuous improvement.

He is focused on talent management to develop future leaders. Andy started with MGM Resorts at 19 years old as a Front Desk Clerk at Treasure Island (TI). He spent 5 years at TI working his way up in various Front Desk and Hotel Assistant Management positions, in addition to spending some time in Hotel Sales & Convention Services. Andy then moved to NYNY as the Hotel Manager and spent close to 7 years there before being promoted to Director of Guest Services at Vdara.  In his time at Vdara, he was promoted to Director of Hotel Operations and then was promoted to Bellagio as Executive Director of Hotel Operations.

Andy’s impressive career history

Andy spent over 2 years at Bellagio and then was promoted to Vice President of Hotel Operations at Luxor where he oversaw Front Office, Front Services, Group Reservations, PBX, Business Center, Spa, Salon, Pool, Housekeeping, EVS, Uniform, Laundry, and all Entertainment departments.  Back in May 2019, Andy was promoted to Vice President of Hotel Strategy for the Hotel Center of Excellence where he led initiatives that enhance the Hotel arrival experience and primary guest touchpoints in all Front-of-House areas, including Front Desk, Front Services, Concierge, Group/Room Reservations, PBX and Hotel Systems.  Andy has now been promoted back to Bellagio as Vice President of Hotel Operations where he leads strategy and operations for the entire Hotel Division and over 2,000 team members at one of the most iconic Hotels in the world.

NHLA has formed a separate entity: The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation. The foundation is aligned with the goals and vision of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. The mission is to grant scholarships for education, certifications and training programs to eligible persons seeking to enter or advance within the hospitality industry in Nevada. Learn more.
