February 2, 2021 by Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association

February is filled with NHLA virtual events

As we move into February, we have a calendar full of NHLA virtual events for our members.  Take a look and sign up to attend.

FreshAir Sensor technology

How does a hotel prevent smoking in non-smoking rooms?  Join us on February 2 as FreshAir Smoking Sensors presents a session explaining how to reduce this costly problem.  Register.

Women in Lodging

Join us on Feb. 9 for our 8-week Women in Lodging mentor session, one of our most successful and productive WIL programs.  Mentor and mentees who are paired together may meet virtually, in-person or a combination of both over the 8-week period.  Whatever method is comfortable for each participant is perfectly fine; the important key to success is to meet regularly.  Sign up.

Volan

Volan Technology will present information on how to book and manage smart meetings on February 10.  As we look to resume meetings and conferences, it is essential to have policies and best practices in place to protect guests and team members.  Learn more.

Clean and Green NHLA

Are you managing sustainability responsibly during the pandemic?  Join us on February 11 as a dynamic group of sustainability and housekeeping professionals from our Clean and Green team talk about best practices and programs that are available.  Register.

Read to Lead book club

On February 16 our Q1 Read to Lead book club session will conclude.  The club members have been reading “It’s the Manager:  Moving from Boss to Coach” and will talk about what they gained from the content.

As our world and industry is in continuous change mode more than ever now, it is essential for career-minded individuals to have the new skills and education needed to attract and retain good jobs as well as advance in the industry.   What worked a few years ago may not be relevant today.

NHLA virtual

Where can you turn to gain new skills and pertinent industry education to work in today’s market?  What should you focus on? Join us on February 24 as we host a panel of professionals from our industry as well as partner educational entities as they share their insights and guidance for succeeding in a very challenged industry today.  Professionals on the panel include industry leaders to talk about skills they seek in the hiring process. Take this opportunity to ask the questions on your mind that will help you maintain stability in your career.  Learn about degrees, diploma programs, certifications and other recognized and respected industry professional development courses that are available and what is involved to attain them.  Don’t miss this one!

NHLA virtual events customized for members
