Q1 Emerging Leaders mentor program scheduled

  Our 2021 Q1 Emerging Leaders mentor program pairing NHLA young professionals with experienced leaders in the Nevada hospitality industry will begin January 27. The mentors provide insights, guidance and tools for career success. The Emerging Leaders mentor program will be set up on a virtual basis to begin the session and can progress virtually or in person meetings according to the preferences of the pairings. If you are a young professional and looking for growth and development opportunities with established and highly respected leaders in our industry, this program is for you! If you are an experienced management leader and would like to provide guidance and experience for up and coming leaders, we need and welcome you. Sign up.

What's at the top of your New Year goal list?

  Most people have "getting fit" on their New Year goal lists and NHLA will help. Join in the "virtual" 5K event any time in January and receive a medal of participation. Run, jog or walk at your own pace in your own surroundings. Proceeds benefit the NHLA education program. Register.

Dale Carnegie presents communication course preview

  NHLA partner, Dale Carnegie of Nevada, will present a virtual session on January 7 at 10:00 a.m. titled "Effective Communications & Human Relations: Course Preview" and it is free for NHLA members. Register.

NHLA book club resumes in January

  The NHLA Read to Lead book club has expanded to include podcasts. The Q1 event will begin January 12 in a virtual format. A new committee has been formed to help coordinate the 2021 book club quarterly sessions. The group will be reading "It's the Manager: Moving From Boss to Coach" by Jim Harter. We have openings on the committee for anyone interested in helping select the leadership books or podcasts. Lynn Gray will chair this committee. Join us.

Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation committees

  The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation will resume activities in January. The foundation is led by chairperson Shannon McCallum and has a dynamic board as well as several committees. We have openings on each committee and would like to invite any NHLA member to join. The foundation provides scholarships to members and their immediate families. We look forward to an active year in 2021. Join today.
