19 New NHLA members in 2019

  The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association welcomed 19 new members in 2019 comprised of hotels and vendors. We appreciate the support and look forward to working together in this new year.


Mark your January calendars

  NHLA is offering several activities for the month of January. Our Q1 education committee will take place January 13. Q1 WIL philanthropy committee meeting takes place January 15. A business writing workshop is scheduled in Carson City on January 16. TISOH will present a disciplining, coaching and reviewing class at the Atlantis Reno on January 17. The WIL winter mentor session kicks off January 21. January 29 our Emerging Leaders will host “New Year New You” focusing on professional digital presence and includes a free image opportunity to update profiles for 2020.

Congratulations to new Emerging Leaders chairperson

  Evan Meyer, Hotel Manager at the California Hotel, will lead the Emerging Leaders council this year as the new chairperson. Evan has served on the council for the past few years and brings energy, new ideas and great guidance for the team.


Emerging Leaders winter mentor session scheduled

  The winter program for the Emerging Leaders mentor session will begin February 25. Young professional NHLA members may sign up as a mentee to be paired with an experienced leader for a fun and productive 8-week program. Mentors wishing to share their guidance are encouraged to participate. Read more.


NHLA hosts vendor showcase

  A vendor showcase will take place at the Orleans on February 27 from 10:00-1:00 p.m. Vendors will have the opportunity to meet hotel personnel and introduce their goods and services. Raffle prizes will take place throughout the morning. The keynote presenter will be Danielle Yanke, Account Director with R E Q (formerly Internet Marketing Inc.) Danielle will talk about social media and digital trends business professionals need to know for 2020. Following the luncheon, Jenna Dosch Photography will provide free digital headshots for the new year. Register.


NHLA appreciates Anthony Lai's leadership

  Anthony Lai, Student Affairs Program Manager with TISOH, has led the Emerging Leaders (previously NRG) council for the past few years and has done an outstanding job. His creativity, leadership skills and willingness to make this area of NHLA the very best possible has shown in every endeavor. We thank Anthony for all his contributions in this role. We are excited to have Anthony take over the Emerging Leaders mentor program for 2020 as he adds several new components, opportunities and enhances this important program.
