This exciting industry event honors talent, performance and excellence in the workplace as we recognize the super stars from Nevada’s prestigious hospitality industry. HOTELIER OF THE YEAR

This is the highest honor conferred to a Nevada Hotel & Lodging Executive Hotel Operator, Multi-Unit Manager, Corporate Executive or Owner affiliated with NHLA. Nominees will be judged on their professionalism and service to the property, their employees, guests and the community. The Hotelier of the Year is recognized by industry peers for his or her exemplary achievements, contributions and leadership.

GENERAL MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Honors a hotelier who has demonstrated superior professionalism in operating an NHLA member property and taken a leadership role in the industry by actively participating in association, community, or industry programs.

MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

This category recognizes employees at any management level who have responsibility for a division, department, or function, such as: Assistant General Manager, Front Desk Manager, Room Service Manager, Food & Beverage Director, Rooms Division Manager, Controller, Executive Housekeeper, Executive Chef, Security Director, Sales Manager, Pit Manager, Assistant Manager of a specific department etc. Nominees will be judged on their professionalism and service to the property, their employees and guests.

EMERGING HOSPITALITY LEADER OF THE YEAR

Honors an exemplary employee under age 35, who has demonstrated superior professional dedication, leadership, and a fresh perspective to their job performance. This individual should illustrate “out of the box” thinking in their professional and personal life, and dedication to the industry by actively participating in association, community, or industry programs. Industry Teacher of Excellence

Honors an exceptional teacher in the hospitality education environment who displays dedication, knowledge and leadership for industry students and who participates in educational programs within NHLA.

Women in Lodging

Recognizes a leader who has contributed a great deal of dedication and effort in assisting with the development of this new NHLA program.

SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR

A supplier company will be selected based on special support to the Association’s activities and exceptional services to the lodging industry in Nevada. Nominees will be judged on outstanding service to their particular company, to NHLA, as well as to the industry. Hotels are encouraged to nominate allied members. The Allied Member of the Year will be awarded at the state level only and the winner will be announced at the NHLA “Stars of the Industry” awards night.

SUSTAINABILITY LEADER

This award recognizes industry properties that have developed a culture toward integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations at the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations. The program must demonstrate success in one or more of the following areas: energy conservation, solid waste reduction, effluents and emissions, water conservation, purchasing, and business issues (e.g. guest demands, community issues, land use and development, training and policy). NHLA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

The NHLA Volunteer of the Year award recognizes exceptional involvement and contribution to the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. NHLA is a non-profit entity with minimal staffing resources; therefore, the dedication and participation of members is crucial for the ongoing success of the association. This award recognizes an individual who has significantly been a part of the NHLA activities, events and programs throughout the year and has rendered services for the organization. Award sponsored by Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association.

Human Resources Professional of the Year

Honors an individual with advanced skills in human resources management as well as exceptional team leadership.

ADMINISTRATIVE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category are employees who work in a clerical support capacity. This includes Administrative Assistants in Accounting, Finance, Executive Offices, Sales, Catering, Communications, Convention Services, Business Center, Human Resources, Engineering, Rooms, Food and Beverage, Meeting Facilities, MIS, Payroll, Purchasing, Public Relations, and Receptionist staff.

Accounting Professional of the Year

Awards an employee excelling in accounting leadership, exemplary accounting skills and dedication.

GUEST SERVICE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category are employees who provide guest services in areas such as: Bell Desk, Door Attendant, Front Office, Reservations, Security Officers, Concierge, Health Club Facilities, and Valet.

CASINO EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category are employees working in gaming sector of the property. This includes employees such as: Floor person, Coin Booth Cashier, Change Personnel, Carousel Attendants, Dealer, Keno Writers, Keno Runners, dealer, poker, floor supervisor, slot ambassador, slot host, etc.

FOOD & BEVERAGE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category are employees who are either associated with or prepare and serve food and beverage. This includes employees such as: Host Persons, Cashiers, Order Takers, Food Checkers, Food and Beverage Servers, Convention Service Employees, Bus Persons, Bar Porters, Bartenders, Cooks, Pantry Workers, Refreshment Center Attendants, Cafeteria Workers, Dishwashers, Pot-Washers, Stewards, Storeroom Clerks, Receiving Clerks.

HOUSEKEEPING EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Nominees in this category are employees who work in the Housekeeping or Laundry departments. This includes employees such as: Room Attendants, House persons, Night Cleaners, Shampoo Persons, Laundry Persons, Linen Room Attendants, Chute Attendants, and Sewing Attendants. Facilities Employee of the Year

Nominees in this category are employees working in engineering and maintenance departments. This includes employees such as: Engineers, Electricians, Painters, and Carpenters.

Sales Professional of the Year

Recognizes a highly successful industry sales professional who contributes substantially to the hotel or business through sales leadership.

Revenue Management Professional of the Year

Honors a professional who has a strong track record in successful and innovative revenue management with exemplary financial results. Award sponsored by the Rainmaker Group.
